About Barbara Manning

Barbara Manning graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, focusing on Architectural History, and also earned a University of Washington Certificate in Genealogy and Family History. She is a fifth-generation Seattleite whose great-great-grandmother came to Seattle from Minnesota in 1907 and built her family home on Roosevelt Way.  Before Seattle House Histories, Barb co-owned the Art Bar in downtown Seattle.  But her love of old houses and genealogy led back to her passion for discovering the many fascinating families who built Seattle’s historic homes.
