Barbara Manning graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, focusing on Architectural History, and also earned a University of Washington Certificate in Genealogy and Family History. She is a fifth-generation Seattleite whose great-great-grandmother came to Seattle from Minnesota in 1907 and built her family home on Roosevelt Way. Before Seattle House Histories, Barb co-owned the Art Bar in downtown Seattle. But her love of old houses and genealogy led back to her passion of discovering the fascinating families who built Seattle’s historic homes.
